About me
I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist, a supervisor, and a teacher, helping clients and students to be curious about themselves and their relationships. Curiosity is a powerful engine for self-reflection and connection.
I have a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University, U.S. I specialized in peacebuilding and social justice. My interests have positioned my work across different contexts as a humanitarian worker (mental health) with Medicins sans Frontieres in countries including Papua New Guinea and Iraq. Moving to academia seemed a logical transition, as mental health work in the field encouraged my firm belief to link field experiences with teaching-learning endeavours in the classroom. As an academician, my areas of interest remain Cross-cultural Psychology, Peace & Conflict Studies, and Research Methods. I have taught at Symbiosis International University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Middle East Technical University (Cyprus), and FLAME University.
As a therapist and clinical supervisor, I practice and encourage reflection, thoughtfulness, and self-compassion as I believe these moments enrich the self with a new understanding and wisdom. My more recent work is in building support and wellbeing for maternal mental health (please refer to Postpartum Support International for more information).
